Summer is a time for lots of outdoor cooking. Whether it is a family gathering or just a casual dinner party with the neighbors, summer cookouts are always the best!
When planning for a summer cookout party, we always love to feature our snacks in new and creative ways. Over the years, we have developed lots of sweet and savory recipes that are perfect for any outdoor occasion. Almost all of them can be made ahead of time and they all travel well.
We love bringing a vegan, vegetarian and/or a gluten-free dish to the event because we want to make sure everyone has something hearty to eat.
Here are our five favorite cookout recipes:
Jamaican Jerk Lettuce Wraps
Lettuce wraps are the perfect alternative to a carb-heavy taco. Done right and they can provide a savory, satisfying sensation associated with its comforting counterpart. We used grilled tempeh in this recipe for its meaty, vegan, protein-packed flavor, but you can substitute any protein.
Cauliflower Curry Bites
These vegetarian cauliflower bites are the perfect vegetarian tailgating snacks, are a great alternative to those unhealthy snacks, and will also cater to your vegetarian guests.
Sarah’s Snacks Vegetarian Rice Stuffing
This yummy vegetarian rice stuffing is made with our dairy free Jamaican Jerk snack, which includes cashews, coconut, roasted veggies.
Spicy Thai Peanut Coleslaw
Coleslaw is a classic side dish but not everyone is a fan of the creamy classic. Try our twist when you switch up the flavors with this Asian-inspired recipe and be sure to include our Coconut Curry from the Sarah’s Savor Snacks collection.
Ditch The Croutons. Go With Vegan Trail Mix
This super simple salad is a mix of butter lettuce, baby romaine and red leaf lettuce, 3 sliced strawberries, a large handful of blueberries and Vegan Trail Mix.
